British Airways has begun rolling out WiFi on its long-haul aircrafts, with the aim to connect 118 of its long-haul aircrafts by 2020.
To date, British Airways has already connected three of it long-haul aircrafts and customers will now be advised of the service when they board the plane. Once the aircraft passes 10,000ft, customers will then be able to browse and stream from their devices.
The airline will offer two paid-for WiFi packages; the ‘Browse' option will enable internet surfing and social media and WhatsApp usage. The ‘Stream' package will allow for streaming music and entertainment, via services such as Netflix.
Both packages are available to purchase for one hour, hour hours or for the entire flight.
Carolina Martinoli, British Airways' director of brand and customer experience, said: "British Airways has launched its multi-million-pound investment plan to benefit its customers with more choice and quality for all.
"Staying connected is important to our customers who want to be able to work, browse and stream in the air. They can now look forward to enjoying the latest generation WiFi across our long-haul fleet over the next two years."
The company has also partnered with Visa to promote the service where Visa customers will be able to browse and stream free for one hour, for a limited time only.
