Email and data security vendor Mimecast Limited and distributor Bulwark Technologies, has said they will address the growing issue of cybercrime, at this year's Infosecurity Middle East. The event is at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) from 6th to 8th March 2018.
According to Mimecast, it will give two Techtalks, covering ransomware and the importance of building a cyber resilience strategy in an evolving cyber threat landscape.
Experts from the vendor will also perform a series of live email hacks and demonstrate how organisations can protect themselves against advanced cyberattacks like spear-phishing and impersonation fraud.
Brian Pinnock, cyber resilience expert, Mimecast, said: "FM Global and Pentland Analytics' 2017 Resilience Index Annual Report revealed that countries in the Middle East have a particularly high exposure to cyber risk. Email is the number one attack vector for cyber crime with more than 90% of cyber attacks starting in your inbox."
Pinnock added that attacks predominantly feature techniques such as spear-phishing, ransomware and impersonation of key employees. "It's also seldom the end goal for attackers, with over 70% of attacks leading to other systems in the network. Yet, email security is still largely ignored by enterprises," he noted.
Mimecast and Bulwark will address two topical cyber security concerns.
The first according to the vendor, is ransomware - a strain of malware that enters an organisation via email and locks down networks, systems and devices until a ransom is paid. Pinnock will deliver a talk on Ransomware, how to manage an attack and Navigating the evolving cyber threat landscape and achieving cyber resilience.
The presentations will cover the importance of threat protection, data protection and business continuity, to improve cyber resilience in the cloud.
