Consumers are looking for smart homes that will provide simpler, faster ways to help manage their lives, according to a new survey.
Whirlpool Corporation surveyed 2,000 home owners and renters, and found that 72% want smart homes that will make their lives easier, as well as saving money and reducing waste.
Three-quarters of survey respondents want smart appliances that can reduce food waste (74%), manage water usage (75%), and help them save money (78%). Sixty-four percent want appliances that help save on electricity costs, and 69% want products that can be personalised to their unique preferences.
Whirlpool is showing over 20 new products at CES 2019 which is says have smart features that are easy to understand and that provide practical and efficient support on household tasks.
Survey results are based on a survey fielded by Research Now on behalf of Whirlpool Corporation of more than 2,000 consumers representing four countries, including the U.S., India, Brazil and France. The survey questioned respondents on their daily routines and preferences when it comes to home appliances.
