The UAE has won an award for the best pavilion at India’s Outbound Travel Mart (OTM) 2017.
OTM 2017, India's biggest travel trade show, was held recently in the city of Mumbai.
The pavilion, themed ‘Visit UAE’, scored the highest for decoration and design.
The UAE delegation included representatives from all the seven emirates and other tourism industry stakeholders such as airlines and hotels. Emirates and Cleveland Clinic, which aimed at promoting medical tourism in the UAE, were among the companies involved.
This is the second time in a row that the UAE is winning this award. The award was received by Abdullah Saleh al Hammadi, director of the Ministry of Economy’s tourism department.
Mohammed K Al Mheiri, undersecretary at the Ministry of Economy and advisor to the Minister for Tourism, said that UAE’s pavilion, which was built on a 352sq m area, won several accolades from visitors and VIPs for its ‘attractive features and modern elements’.
The pavilion provided visitors a view of some of the most important tourism landmarks in each of the seven emirates, and highlighted the UAE’s tourism services and facilities as well as what it had to offer in terms of leisure, business, shopping, medicine and culture.
