Careem to partner with China's Yidao Yongche

Careem Inc, a UAE-based car booking service, has reportedly planned to partner with partner with Chinese private car hire service Yidao Yongche.

Bloomberg reported that the two companies have decided to use London-based startup Splyt Technologies to coordinate their fleets and payments. As per the deal, passengers using one app can travel abroad to use the drivers of the other without downloading new software.

Philipp Mintchin, CEO, Splyt, was quoted as saying that his company’s technology will help clients see available cars when they land.

‘Splyt holds local bank accounts in regional currencies and makes its money by charging a commission on the currency exchange,’ the report said.
