The Federal Electricity and Water Authority (Fewa) of the UAE has approved a Dh42-million ($11.44 million) project to replace the old water pipelines in Al Nakheel, Al Nuaimiya and Rashidiya areas of Ajman, a report said.

The decision on the project was taken at a meeting of the Fewa board, chaired by Suhail bin Mohammed Faraj Faris Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and chairman of Fewa Board, said the Wam news agency report.

Mohammed Saleh, director-general of the authority, said the project is expected to be completed in 90 weeks.

"The scope of the project includes the design, manufacturing, supply, installation, inspection, operation and civil works associated with these lines, as well as the replacement of old connections of these lines to the new network," he added.
