As the adoption of electric vehicles gains momentum in the GCC, Dubai is planning to increase the number of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations across the emirate.

This part of broader efforts to make Dubai the smartest city in the world.

The emirate recently launched a Dh15mn smart park in Al Barsha South, the first of its kind in the emirate.

The park is fitted with modern smart technologies and the first smart park with EV charging stations and solar carports with a capacity to produce 260MWh.

Robotic technology will be used to clean accumulated dust from the solar panels in order to boost their efficiency.

The generated power will then be connected to Dubai Electricity and Water Authority’s (DEWA) main grid.

The power will be required for lighting up the parks and supporting irrigation systems.
